The Pension Review Process
How does a pension review work?
So, you have a plan for retirement and have saved money into your pension to fund the lifestyle you want after you give up work. We are here to help ensure that your pension is on track to help you achieve your goals.
A pension review is a great way to start that process.
How your pension performs is key. As situations and performance of funds change regularly it is sensible to also regularly review the performance of your pension to make sure you are not losing out on any additional benefits that by switching pension provider could get you.
How does a pension review work
We will work with you to get a complete understanding of your current pension situation. That includes getting to know your individual goals and requirements.
Once we have your authority we can get to work. We will request detailed information from your current pension provider, so we can review the specifics of your scheme more closely and determine whether improvements could be made to your pension.
We will gather information from your current pension provider(s). We usually receive this within four weeks (don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted in the meantime).
Once we have all of the information for your pension(s) we can start an initial assessment, looking at the performance of the funds, the management fees you are charged, the options it gives at retirement and checking for any loss of benefits that may occur by switching.
We will need to collect a little more information from you and assess your attitude to investment risk (are you a cautious or more adventurous investor) to ascertain whether you could benefit from changing provider.
We will prepare your personalised Recommendation Report and will go through that with you and present our recommendations for the best solution for you. We will outline all the key facts you need to know. And don’t worry, we will be there to answer any questions you may have.
